Day 8, Lassen Volcanic National Park, Kings Creek Falls hike

Day 8 was a Saturday, and we started our LONG drive home. We split up the drive and made a small detour to see Lassen Volcanic National Park. This was a TOTALLY different type of scenery than we had scene in the redwoods. It reminded me a lot of yellowstone.
The Dixie Fire in 2021 devastated about 63 percent of this park. Parts of the park you could see just blackened trees, but other parts not touched. I loved seeing the little green trying to grow back and thought about it in a gospel sense.

This blackened tree was cool. Sad, but cool.
Near the devastated area.

The waterfall! It's crazy to think this area a month ago was covered in snow. It got a TON of snow this year.
These stairs leaving the waterfall were STEEP, but we made it. Adeline had to make several rest stops.

Then the girls were about done hiking. This was a longer hike after a semi-long drive.
Now she is really done.
But we eventually made it to the trailhead! It was a great break in between driving.
