Carving the pumpkins 2023 and seeing some snow

Last Sunday, we went down to the Barnhisel's for Eric's mission farewell. They had some snow at their house! Granted, they live on a mountain but still!
Ryan's pumpkin patch has definitely been a little sad this year. But the girls still had a lot of fun carving the little pumpkins we got.

The catalpa has started losing it's leaves this week.
Finding the perfect spots to put them outside.

The first big "pile" of leaves.
Hard at work.
I thought the little pumpkins were so cute! Each girl told Ryan what and how to carve on it. They cleaned out most of the inside guts, but a little tricky to do the carving still.

This last one made me smile the most. He definitely looks creepy!

Saturday adventure with girls while boys at a paintballing campout/Church History Museum

The boys (well Liam went up early Saturday morning due to a sprained elbow from ji jitsu) were at a paintballing activity and campout, so Ryan and I took the girls to the Church History Museum. Free activity. YEAH! I LOVE LOVE those. Seeing what the gold plates would have looked like.

Trying to lift them.
Hiding in a log.
Doing the map of Kirtland with what was built there.
Building the temple stones with the pully.

Adeline especially liked the kids' temple area upstairs. Building her temple.

This was the girls' favorite part. The museum has a beautiful exhibit of Minerva Teichert there (which we didn't really get to because girls weren't interested, but I would love to go back!) but they had an area with someone that could show you how to watercolor.

Evelyn was especially very detailed in her watercolor.
Adeline did several little paintings, but she loved this bird the best.

Vista Halloween parade day

Vista had their Halloween celebrations on the Friday before Halloween. Here is Adeline in her witch costume being a happy witch.
Here she is being a zombie power witch.
Evelyn wanted a bun for her hair, but this was NOT the right bun.
She was like a crazy cheerleader girl.

I redid the bun 3 times and still couldn't do the vision Evelyn wanted. But this one was better she said.
Walking along outside.

It was hard to get Adeline and her face ha ha. I mostly got her hat.

Or her piggie.
All the fun treats.

Taking the jungle garden out, Evelyn trying out her witch costume, and more witch pictures

Starting the take out of the garden jungle.
Still jungle here. I'm sad looking back at this picture now thinking I should have taken all that luscious basil inside, but alas, didn't realize it would freeze the next night and it bit the dust. Boo!
Filled up my neighbor's garbage can along with mine.
Evelyn trying out her witch costume.
For young women's we made some fun Halloween treats at Marilyn's house.
More Gardner Village pics of the zombie :)
And now that she is going to be a witch for Halloween, we needed another witch's hat, so yeah for $5 hats at Gardner Village, the witch HEAVEN this time of year.
Testing out her witch skills.

Look at that red bush!
Proof I was there.

She loves doing zombie witch pictures ha ha.

And an art project.
In doing the garden jungle, I found one of our long lost hand clippers. WAHOO!
