Homemade valentines

Yesterday we broke out the gear for making homemade valentines. This was Collin's first one he made..... we can't say who it's for since we already sent them in the mail and it's a surprise!
Here is Optimus (did I TELL you Liam is obsessed?) he didn't get into the making valentines really, but did want to color/draw, his other obsession.
Collin discovered some old stickers....ohmylanta. A few valentines are covered in stickers FYI.

It was really fun to make valentines. We have a few more to make, but it was really fun to send some in the mail!

Making monster vday boxes and Groundhog Day

Saw an idea online for Monster valentine boxes. This painting craft actually kept the boys occupied for quite some time. Liam REALLY got into painting and wanted to do it himself.

Side note. Collin watched Star Wars with his dad for a few nights. Darth Vadar and the lightsaber have new love in our home.
That same day we got a fun craft from the library for Groundhog Day.

It came with a cute song you probably can't read to the tune of Fera Jaque....it goes Mr. Groundhog Mr. Groundhog, take a peek take a peek, if you see your shadow the weather will be awful for 6 more weeks 6 more weeks. It was a cute idea that the groundhog could poke up.
Liam when he is not obsessed with Optimus, is obsessed with drawing.
 Collin's monster is done!

So is Liam's! Cupid leaves a treat sometime during the day when you aren't looking.
 Oh no, it's optimus again.
Oh no! The monster lost his eye!

The doldrums of January

We had tons of snow for a few days and the kids got to play outside, but then the deep freeze..... so we had to be creative since we had to stay inside. Made snowman cookies one afternoon.
Collin LOVED making these since he got to put all the decor on and he chose which colors for which faces.

 Eating some was the best.
Made a crazy snowman pizza for dinner.
Liam pretty much lives in his Optimus Prime costume these days. In fact, this morning, when I didn't let him wear it for a third day in a row, he showed some strong anger. I held firm.

We also had indoor Olympic games one morning. Toss the javelin anyone?

We can't WAIT for warmer weather!

Another Jan trip to the zoo

You may be seeing lots of zoo pictures this year.... since we got a zoo membership for xmas and the boys LOVE the zoo. We braved cold weather again in Jan (this time we saw more people) and went to the zoo again.
Collin loves to play on the statues.
The sea lions and walrus were a big hit this time.
We loved to see them swim underwater.

And I'm not sure if the cleaning of the cage of the giraffes was as big a hit as the giraffes themselves.

 The hose was fascinating!

We LOVE the zoo! Can't wait until we are all better from being sick so we can go in February!
