Day 6 continued, the Star Wars hikes, Drury Cheney trail and the French/Bell/Grieg groves

These were some hikes I were very excited about. We ended up doing them in the afternoon instead of first thing in the morning (and did the skywalk first which ended up working out better anyways). We started with the Drury-Cheney trail. Now that we knew you couldn't climb on downed trees, the kids were really bummed, but it was still a success.
Gorgeous, gorgeous ground cover with the tall red trees. SO pretty!

Hanging out by a downed tree.
Adeline REALLY got into these trails. She kept saying it was SO beautiful and she wanted to take a zillion pictures "so she could study the plants of the Redwoods." She had quite the collection I was carrying around in the backpack.
The green was just so so beautiful.

Proof I am there as well :) And to show how big the trees are.

Little path through the beautiful forest.

Attempt at trying to show how tall the trees were. They were still massively tall.

I don't normally take too many scenic pictures without people, but seriously, I took a lot. And they don't even do it justice.

This is the French/Bell/Grieg grove, or supposedly where some of Star Wars was filmed. I'm not sure that was totally true, but it totally looked like it could have been.
Fun teeter toter tree that was ok to sit on.

Moss tree. This part was cool because several of the trees had dates they had fallen down written on them.

Liam and his muscle poses :)

I liked this pose. More of the French/Bell/Grieg grove. We didn't explore the entirety of the grove because it was getting later and people were getting hungry.

Back at the airbnb Adeline getting out her "studying". It was so cute.
We loved you Avenue of the Giants!
