We ride the Nevada Northern Railway train and tour the machine shop

Bummer about the thumb from the nice man who took our token "whole" family picture on a vacation. With our train tickets we got to tour the railyard and machine shop.
It was very interesting. This is Dirt the cat. He was a huge hit. He was born in the machine shop and is I think 13 years old.
Snow plow for a train.

Wiping the grease from our shoes.
We rode the night train. The reason I booked this was because we were hoping to see the stars and a beautiful sunset. Ironically, it was one of the few nights thus summer that it was completely clouded over. So we saw nothing really.

Tiny bit of the sunset. We admitted it was a little long train ride for the kiddos (almost 3 hours) and disappointing that we didn't see any stars. Since it was so late the kids fell asleep after a couple hours, but it was still a good experience. Next time we will just do a shorter day time train.
