New England/Canada cruise Day 1

So it's been basically almost 12 years since Ryan and I have done a cruise. You know kids. But thanks to my parents really pushing me, we went on one Oct 14-21 to Canada and New England. Here is day one. We took the red eye to Boston on Oct 13th. It wasn't too bad for me, but not sure Ryan would want to do that again
Once we got there at 5 am, we hung out in the airport for a couple of hours and then took the subway and shuttle to the Boston Common. We were hoping to do a little bit of the Freedom Trail before church. Here is a fun playground that our kids would have loved.

Monument to people that died in the Boston Massacre.

Walking to church we saw Potter street. And how ironic church we got there about 830 and....it ended up being stake conference. So we pondered staying and just going for a little bit before getting on the ship, but then I totally RANDOMLY (or tender mercy blessing I prefer) saw my MTC companion Tammy and her husband in the hallway of the Boston Stake Center by the bathroom. It was so utterly weird and random. But they were on a little back east trip as well. So we decided not to stay for stake conference and they took us to a GORGEOUS Mount Auburn Cemetery.
Rapunzel's tower. This cemetery was totally massive.

 Climbing the tower stairs.

Not too much color on top of the tower, but the view you could see from all around was totally beautiful.

 On top of the tower.

 Some leaves!
 Pretty gazebo.

Weird size picture but that orange tree in the background this picture doesn't do it justice. It was BEAUTIFUL!

It was so fun to hang out with them. Tammy has been to Boston several times and knew all these cool places in the cemetery.

 Old cool tree.
Then they took us to the USS Constitution along the freedom trail.

 Firing the cannon ha ha.

Every time we saw the rigging we thought of Liam. He would have been a great help to scale the rigging as a sailor. He would have made an awesome sailor.

 Below decks.
Here is where the 500 soldiers slept. In these hammocks. Close quarters, eh?

Fancy people and leaders slept here.
