Day 7 of cruise, Portland Maine, the "tour"

Originally, I had planned and hoped for us to do the mailboat tour. But after, talking to this very nice older local guide in the terminal as you got off the boat, we opted to check out another tour that was done by a local guy that grew up in Portland. I'm SO glad we changed. We did this basically first thing in the morning. It was fantastic! For 90 minutes he took us all around Portland, but best of all, he told us everything he knew. He was "wicked" awesome. They say wicked in Maine apparently. This was the first part of the tour all these fancy homes. The architecture in Portland was amazing. So unique.
As you can see, I loved looking at these homes by the number of pictures I took with no people in them.

This was up near the point. I wish I could remember the names of all these places now a few weeks later, but I can't. But, this had some stuff from different world wars.

 Gazebo again.
This is a famous fort out in the bay.
 Old cemetery
More of the amazing ship builder's homes from way back in the day. They were the richest landowners in Portland back then. One of these homes our tour guide told us was falling apart and a guy bought it for a million dollars, renovated it into several condos and sold each condo for more than 2 million each. GEESH!
 Pretty fall colors

Seriously, couldn't get enough of these homes.

Oldest church (I think?) in Portland.

The observatory. It had just closed for the season. Bummer.

 Second tallest building in Maine.
Famous statue of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow I believe.
 Look at that architecture!
 Maybe this is Longfellow?
Victoria Mansion. Famous famous mansio from the 1800s.

 Look at these unique apartments.
House with the outside covered in flowers/bushes.

Venturing along the several-million dollar homes area.

 Beautiful lookout.

There's the famous Portland Maine Lighthouse in the background. We drove there on the tour.
