So these I think are from the Nov 25-26 days, but this was before the breathing tube came out, but she was unsedated.
Trying to learn how to sleep again and breathe again without the tube.
Thanksgiving day we got to try and drink and eat some soft foods again. At first the sippy cup was so hard for her to even hold. Her muscle strength was SO weak. I'm still amazed at how weak her body became in those couple of weeks.
Eating fishie crackers for the first time again. This was a huge step toward working back to real food and being able to go home.
We also on Thanksgiving Day got to move rooms! or no, it was the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving we said bye to the picu and got moved to a normal floor. We switched a couple of times after that before we really got settled, but it felt so happy and weird not to be in the picu anymore.
PT and ot came every day.
Oh my heavens! It's a real smile!
Figuring out how to drink again.
These three animals were very close by all the time. Uncle Jeff and Allory and Lainey and Auntie Brianne gave her the pink unicorn. She LOVED that and loved listening to their voices.
More practicing food eating.
Meanwhile, Ryan and the other kiddos spent Thanksgiving Day at the Barnhisels and sledded and ate yummy food.
Yeah! Ryan got to pack Adeline up and say bye to the PICU. Even though I was so sad I didn't get to say bye to the drs we were so happy to be moving on!
New room for the first night.
She had come a long ways, even in the last couple days. She still needs help supporting sitting, but at least her head she can hold on her own now. YEAH! Progress!
not sure what this picture is, but tired after a long day :) We are getting stronger and stronger!
