Day 4, the ecmo machine begins.

This was Tuesday, Nov 19. A hard day. Even though she had been stable for a couple of days, she wasn't really progressing and getting better.

She was super puffy from all the fluids.
I was an emotional basket case this day. I just kept watching all the monitors, and now understanding what they meant, knew she wasn't doing as great. Thus tear picture.

But Adeline got on ECMO late that afternoon. That's the huge cannula going into her right side of her neck.

She started doing so much better once her lungs could rest on the ecmo machine. It was the first positive news in several several days, so it was so nice to hear positive news.

Brain monitoring things on her head to monitor any seizures she had while she was on the paralytic for the ecmo.
Tons and tons of machines to monitor so many things. It was crazy to see all the stuff that people had to monitor to keep her safe and healing. I was so amazed at the technology and felt like I was going to medical school all the time we were up there trying to understand everything.
