August trip to the zoo

Evelyn has been wanting to go to the zoo for weeks. We don't normally go tons during the summer (minus zoo nights) because it's super crowded and hot, but I figured we needed to go, so we went on a Thursday. She was SO excited. We will have to get back to going every week or two now that school has started back up.

Anyone else need a snack of peas at 930 am? There was hardly anyone at the zoo. I was surprised since technically it's still summer.

The new meerkat exhibit is so fun to watch. They really like to dig.

We rode the carausel. I can never spell that word. Evelyn LOVED going on the eagle. Reminded me of Collin, his favorite animal was the eagle too.
Tried to convince Adeline to ride anything but the peacock. Nope. Only the peacock.

The polar bear was out and up close and personal. Evelyn loved seeing her up close.

And for the first time that the girls can remember (it's been a couple of years) we made it to the bird show. They loved it. Especially the two talking parrots.

 Playground time.
And the splash pad was on and a HUGE hit. And the blue slide was fixed. YEAH! The girls got soaked and spent about 45 minutes in here, but had a blast.

I'm so thankful for our zoo pass!
