While we were waiting, the owners told us the owner of the hotel we had booked, had apparently gone to jail? WHAT THE HECK?!?!?! So I was frantically calling around and driving around trying to find a place to stay and even asked some places in Moab (WAY too much money) if they had openings for that night.
Luckily, the "inn at the canyons" hotel gave us a semi good deal, but we ended up getting 2 rooms since we had no idea if the girls would even sleep on the floor. And this hotel was probably the nicest we stayed in. The rooms were "fancy".
The pool was totally awesome.
And another funny thing, the owner was so nice when she heard our story. We tried to go to this shake shack (high reviews online again), but after swimming when I headed out to the boys to get some shakes, realized at 904 they had closed at 9pm. Monticello Murphy's Law was STRONG! Luckily, Collin had remembered the hotel had little cups of ice cream for sale for 1.00! SCORE! So overall, the night in Monticello was the most memorable due to the hotel closing.jail guy, and then finding a great hotel, and still getting ice cream. We O'Berrys tried to roll with Murphys law punches.
So when it came time for the girls to go to sleep, this was Adeline's reaction to sleeping with Evelyn in a big bed rather than the pillows on the floor. Murphys Law again. But Ryan had a picture of them Snuggled up together in the morning that it looked like Adeline had literally slept pinned to Evelyn the whole night :)
Breakfast.
Stopped by the Monticello temple on our way to church in Moab. We could see the temple steeple from our hotel. It took one minute for us to drive there. Holy small town is Monticello. It was funny because until about 9pm that town was dead! Then everyone and their dogs came back from hiking the canyons, moab, etc and it was a lively party then.
Pretty flowers at the temple.
ON the ride home, we stopped at the amazing just past Spanish Fork rest area we had seen on the way down.
Fun train exploration.
