Day 3 We drive Scenic Byway 12 and get to Kodachrome Basin

Usually on trips the boys and I wake up early and go on walks and look for license plates. Here were we were staying it was CHILLY in the morning, like down to the 50s, which we aren't used to. Look at the sunrise!

The secret weapon! Alaska! We found it on a walk last summer too. This is our super cool license plate board game we play on long trips.

Driving the scenic drive through Grand Escalante National Monument. This had a lot of cool things on the drive. It had four different biosystems in about a 50 mile span.
There was one part that was super narrow driving on the cliff. That was cool. And scary!
Taking a break to read about how they build this scenic byway.

Hey a nice couple from Alabama could take our whole family picture! Yeah!

We arrived at our "bunkhouse" at the Kodacrhome Basin State Park. It totally exceeded my expectations. It had air conditioning and a surprise fridge and microwave!
Of course there was a little fighting over who got to sleep where.

Eating lunch in air conditioning! Nice!
