Free day at Natural History Museum

Liam helps me make dessert one Sunday
The last couple of days before kindergarten started we tried to do lots of fun things. One of those was go to the Museum of Natural History. It had been awhile since we had been and Liam and Evelyn were so excited about this guy. The money dinosaur.
 Playing in the water area.

 Catching bugs.

 Playing with the microscope

Digging for fossils is always a favorite.

Outside one was a hit too.

This whole area we had never gone in before, but it was a big hit. You could look in an archaelogical dig.

 Simulate an earthquake.

Kindergarten assessment and scooter/bike parade

At the boys' school, kindergarten starts a week later so they can assess all the kindergartners. Liam was so sad he couldn't go to school the first day with Collin. But he was very excited to go get assessed.
Evelyn also apparently thinks she can go to kindergarten too.
Playing with nerf guns at our neighbors waiting for the parade. Our ward had a primary bike/scooter parade before a dinner. It was so fun. All the kids got to decorate their bikes/scooters and ride around the neighborhood.

Then my awesome artist friend did face painting. You can see what is on Collin's mind lately?
And I thought this spider was pretty cool for Liam. He loved it.

Last zoo night for this year

A couple of days after Collin started school, there was a zoo night. Even with school in, it was so nice and warm we decided to go. We rode the train this time.
Evelyn wasn't quite sure if she liked it or not. The pictures decieve you, but half the time she was saying, I get down mommy.

 Liam the forever gymnast.

Swinging down from the rope was a new thing.

And Evelyn can now, slowly, walk across the two fun bridges all by herself.

Garden, Olympics and Collin's first day of second grade

Finally around mid-August the garden started to really produce. I'm in no way staying on top of it this year, but it's nice to know it's there :)
Boys got a new bookshelf for their room. They were very excited.
We watched a lot of Olympics before school started, and did Lego Olympic building one night. here is the swimming and diving pools.

Evelyn is looking more and more like she is ready to turn two.
Last day of lunch at the park. I just realized some of these I may have already posted about. Oops!
Collin's first day of second grade. He is wearing his Vista lions shirt.

Liam did Evelyn's hair this day. Hello big bows.

The first few days I let Liam and Evelyn play on Collin's school's playground. They loved it of course.
