Saturday adventure Oct 5 Temple Quarry Trail

Due to Adeline being in the hospital last week, we didn't get to go on a longer fall hike due to being sick, etc., and this weekend was conference, but we did hurry up and go hike along the temple quarry trail in Little Cottonwood Canyon for about 45 minutes before conference started.
I was a little disappointed that there weren't more fall covered leaves, but the colored leaves had either mostly fallen, or the leaves hadn't changed since it was too low elevation. But here we are walking up to the trailhead.
Evelyn and Adeline had made charts to find different things on the trail.
Adeline had a very specific amount of things she wanted to find.
Big rocks climbing up.
Attempt at cute kids' picture.
This was the riverbed where I think the pioneers tried to make a canal to try and get the rocks down to the temple.

The kids loved walking along all the riverbeds.

Surfing on the rock ha ha.

Hey, there is a little color here!

Liam channeling his inner Olympian shot put.

More big rock climbing.
I let the kids do a silly shake your bum picture if they then did a cute smiley picture. This made me laugh because they all immediately turned around, shook their booty, and I laughed.

This was part of the dam that had broken apart.
It was cool to explore around and see this cool wall that had rusted but I'm sure used to be a door to let water in.

Trying to spin the door down.

Thank you mother nature for a fun little get out of the house walk!

Temple, art class, experiment, and singing for the first week of October

Took the boys and a couple of friends to do baptisms at the Taylorsville Temple last Friday night. I am SO thankful and grateful for such a beautiful temple so close by.
LOVED LOVED this fall "art" picture Adeline made in her art class.
And she and Liam did an experiment of elephant toothpaste.

Evelyn sang at an assembly to help celebrate national hispanic month. She wanted fancy hair so I attempted a bun.

She was SO excited because her and her partner got to come in last holding the American flag.

And here are several pictures of her diorama she made about Chile. It looked SO good!

Good job doing good things kiddos!

Evelyn's 2nd cross country meet

Evelyn had her second cross country meet last Thursday at a park in Draper. It took AWHILE to get there, but it was a much more fun park with play areas and much more open. Here is Adeline waiting for the race to start.

After her warm-up for the race.
This tire swing was so fun.

And some fun monkey bars.

And Adeline "invented" her own little cross country race before the actual race started.

More practicing her "racing" with Liam on these little holes.

Waiting at the start line.

Just when the horn was about to blow.
And she is off! Last race, I took a lot more videos, but this race I decided to do more pictures.

Going across the bridge.

Coming down the bath near the end.
She did SO great. Red face to prove it :) She said this race went a LOT better than the first and her legs weren't sore. She has really enjoyed this little cross country experience.
