Here is Evelyn doing her one handed toss and serve.
Adeline was throwing up one morning this week so she stayed home from school and when she eventually felt better, she painted my nails super fancy. The blue is supposed to be a snowflake.
More volleyball practice at the games this week.
They won one of the matches! And Evelyn did make good contact with the ball several times!
Being ready to receive.

Discovery Museum Part 2, the second floor
Right before we left we went into the art studio and painted with fall colors.
This stem lab has never really been open when we have gone before, so it was fun to see someone making science experiments!
The majority of the second floor is being remodeled to do this huge miniature train area. It is MASSIVE. It will be really cool when it is done, but you couldn't go in there yet, so I took a picture from afar.
More experiments.
Adeline LOVED these balance bikes. She and Evelyn were a little too big for them, but Adeline especially loved zooming around the sports area on one.
And last year when we went the weather had the outdoor helicopter area closed. They have taken down all the hospital area (not sure why?) so now it is just the two little helicopters.
But the landing area microphone was working this time so you could talk to the people inside the lifeflight helicopter which was fun.
Lunch break.
Building the lego cars for races.
Hanging out reading HUGE picture books in this fun little room.
We spent a decent amount of time in the dinosaur area. We hadn't really done much in there before, but the girls LOVED pretending to be scientists and looking in the lab. It was fun to see their imaginations are still good :)
Studying different things under a microscope and trying to label them.
Showing me their different lab specimens. I wasn't a true scientist so I couldn't really do anything in the lab they told me :)
Working to find different bones and label them.
More work in the lab.
Out on the working lab area. Thanks, Discovery and PBS! It was a fun visit of several hours and I still had to pry them away :)

Girls Saturday adventure Discovery Museum Part 1
Every year, with the PBS reading program, kids 12 and under can earn a free ticket to the Discovery Museum downtown. Usually you have to go in the fall, and so we finally found a Saturday to go. My girls (and boys when they were smaller) LOVED this place. Evelyn is reading one of her favorite picture books Rainbow Fish in the upstairs of the house.
Climbing the beehive at the beginning.
This little bird's house is a new addition.
The balls area is a fun spot we usually spend a lot of time at. This visit we didn't spend quite as much time there.
Last year when we went the construction area was under construction so now it is all brand new. The crane is a very fun addition that you can pick up your own blocks. That is new.
I love how there are so many different play areas here.
The water area is always fun.
Organizing the garden.
Hunting for eggs with the chickens.
Adeline really liked this coin/bank drop area to help understand coins. We haven't ever spent much time here so that was fun.
Learning how the bank gets money in the drive through.
The "Maceys" store is always a big hit. It was fun because there were other kids there so lots of checking and scanning. I was the stocker in putting groceries back.
The car area was totally in a different space and had some new additions. Adeline really liked working on my car.
Working under the car to fix the engine she told me.
Adeline explaining the water area to me.
