Belly of the Dragon hike

Out of order pic at the hotel :)
I had also heard and seen a TON of pictures about this place called the Belly of the Dragon, just outside of Kanab. It is this weird tunnel that I can't remember now what it was originally built for but now people just go up and climb through it. There were quite a few cars in the parking lot so I knew it's fame preceded it. The tunnel is maybe 100 yards total, but it was very cool.

My camera didn't do it justice but you really do look like you are climbing through a dragon belly. I brought our 2 headlamps for the guys so we could see in the super dark part.

This is a cool view looking out the other side.
There is a lot of names carved in the tunnel :( but it was fun to see different things in the ceiling.

Walking out towards the back entrance.

Outside the back entrance, which doesn't look quite as cool as the main front entrance. Adeline was VERY excited she got to wear the head lamp for awhile.

It is just a very unique place.
Proof I was there.

It was a fun little jaunt. The kids and all of us really thought it was a unique spot. After this it was about 5 and we were ready to head to the hotel to swim!

Red Hollow Slot Canyon hike

I have been wanting to go down to Kanab as a family for several years now. It has just never worked out until this year. Even though Kanab is very small, there is a LOT around there. On the way down we went to hike the Red Hollow Slot Canyon hike.
Adeline petting her cactus.
In the wash on the way to the slot canyon.

Token four kid picture.
Adeline loved this little enclosure area.

And we got to the slot canyon! Adeline LOVED posing like this! With her legs on the walls.
As a family, we haven't done much of slot canyon stuff. This was a really cool introduction.
Further inside the slot canyon.
Near the entrance to the canyon.

More fun posing.

Getting to the end part. It wasn't a super long canyon.

Proof I was there. And my family may also forever remember this is the canyon that I was sick in and threw up on coming back to the car on the hill. But hopefully they will remember other parts too.

Spring break 2025, Day 1 The Creamery in Beaver

Out of order pic of Ryan eating his huckleberry.
We decided to do Kanab this spring break (it flipped with our Bryce Canyon/Capitol Reef trip) due to some scheduling things. So on our way down we went to the creamery for ice cream and a lunch break. The girls had fun in learning all about cows.
The boys had fun milking the cow.
Eating our lunch at the nice chairs outside before getting ice cream.
We all enjoyed the ice cream very much.

Releasing the butterflies, Adeline's art, and Frozen at Eisenhower

The first butterfly to venture out a little further from the basket!
Loved this art of Adeline's.
Took the kids to see Frozen Jr. at Eisenhower. At the very end they had bubbles come all out in the audience like it was snow. It was very cool, even the boys though so :)

And here is the open picture of our butterflies!

Playing ticket to ride, the butterflies hatch, and more art class

It was super fun to watch our butterflies hatch out of the chrysallis. And the last one (this platform doesn't post videos well), but I got to see the last butterfly come out of it for the most part! It was very cool.
We have a lot of Sunday afternoons done a family game with most people in our family. Here we are doing ticket to ride.
The chrysallis before they hatched.
Adeline's art class.

At Ryan's work party, they had a caricature person draw people. Here we are :) in our cartoon glory.
