Out of order pic from the last of the hike. Actually I just realized these are all backwards from our hike so this was the last picture I took so work backwards. Zion National Park has been on my list for our family for years and years. Mostly I was intimidated due to the crowds, and the heat, and I wanted all my kids a little older to be able to do the Narrows hike. So, this year when Adeline was in fourth grade, a couple months ago Ryan and I talked about doing Zion over fall break. And here we are. This was on the way down on Thursday at the Kolob Canyon Timber Creek Overlook Trail. It was a very good introduction to Zion.
We have seen a lot of red rocks before.
But those super tall ridges were great. In weird ways it reminded me of Capitol Reef (LOVE that place!), but still just gorgeous gorgeous.
That blue sky was especially on display that afternoon. My favorite color past green.
Some pictures to prove I was there.
Outside the visitor center with all our family. Kids and I. I really love this picture of Evelyn in front of that massive mountain. When we got in the canyon, I think I heard every kid go....whoa. Wow. It was cool.
